Part controversial and part devotional, the present work by Puritan, Henry Jeanes [1611-1662] is a reply to Henry Hammond's contention that Jesus "grew" in love for the Father, etc., Theologically, Jeanes sees this as problematic for the full divinity of Christ and His union with the Father. Devotionally, it ends up being a really lovely work on the nature of Christ's love to the Father in the Gospels.
