Three very scarce and lovely Puritan works in original vellum binding.
John Boys [1571-1625] “is one of the richest of all writers” being “all essence." C. H. Spurgeon. Spurgeon also quotes Boys extensively in his Treasury of David.
Additionally, Boys was chosen as one of the scholars to work on the King James Version translation of 1611, and served as secretary, keeping a journal of the Committee's work, discussions, decision making processes, etc.,
The present volume, containing three separately issued expositions, includes Boys expositions of Scripture passages used in the services of Morning and Evening Prayer and Holy Communion in the Book of Common Prayer, as well as his writings on the Psalms, expositions on the Epistles and Gospels, and comments on the Apostle's Creed, the Lord's Prayer, and the Ten Commandments. Puritan exposition at its best.
