A wonderful first edition of one of the pithiest of all the puritans. . . the nonsuch professor being one which makes men exclaim, "There is nonsuch as he!" being the call of Christians in their love and following of Jesus, of all men, etc., Often reprinted, this is the first edition.

Secker, William. The Nonsuch Professor, in His Meridian Splendor, or the Singular Actions of Sanctified Christians. Laid Open in Seaven [sic] Sermons at Allhallows Church in the Wall, London. London. Printed by M. S. for Thomas Parkhurst, to be sold at his shop at the three Crowns, over against the great Conduit in Cheapside. 1660. 434pp.

Very attractive original calf boards with expertly appropriate respine; rubbed at extremities, through at corner and foredge. Title relaid, some handling a very minor marginal stain. Else, textually solid and clean and really a lovely volume.
