Very scarce little work of historical fiction based on real events from the Great Ejection in August of 1662, in which the likes of Thomas Manton, John Owen, Thomas Watson, and 2,000 other divines, largely Presbyterian, Congregationalists, Baptists, and Independents, were simultaneously ousted from their churches for non-confirmity.

No other copies on the market we can locate.

Martyn, Sarah Towne. Ilverton Rectory; Or, The Non-Conformists in the 17th Century. Founded on Fact. New York. American Tract Society. 1864. 188pp.

Original pebbled cloth with bland-embossing on cover and gold on spine. Somewhat rubbed at extremities, a bit cocked. Very solid and generally crisp and clean with some light scattered foxing. Excellent little book.
