1682 SYMON PATRICK. Hearts Ease During a Time of Plague - Pandemic of 17th Century
Fascinating little item in light of our times; a devotional work for the hearts of those who lost loved ones during the outbreaks of Bubonic Plague during the 17th century by one of the most influential Anglican divines of the period.
The Hearts Ease, or, a Remedy against all Troubles, with a Consolatory Discourse to those who have Lost their Friends and Relations. To which are now added, Two Papers Printed in the Time of the Late Plague. London. Francis Tyton. 1682.
Handsome original full calf binding with rubbing and minor losses at extremties; stains to lower quarter of front board just extending into text. Text quite good with a few early / contemporary notes. Inscribed as a gift from the Rev. Mr. Letsome, 1761, on rear blank.
Rare; no copies on the market.
