Very grouping of three separately published works here together by prominent 18th century Evangelical divine, John Olding. He was trained at Philip Doddridge's school and served a single congregation the dissenting church at Butt Lane [I know; poor guy] faithfully until his death in 1785.

The three works here are sort of bookends to his ministry. The first is a very lengthy sermon on the holiness and sacredness of the Christian ministry. It is an ordination sermon of nearly 100 pages delivered in 1759. The second is a work on the power of ejaculatory prayer, or deeply emotional and personal prayer, preached in 1767. The final, preached the year of his death, is his funeral sermon for his grand-daughter. All rare. Includes a 1775 engraving of Olding as well.
