1766 FINE SCOTTISH BINDING. Alexander Kincaid Early Edinburgh Imprint Bible
A wonderful example of an 18th century stylized Scottish binding with an elaborate floral border, panels populated with stars, and a center floral panel housing a beautifully articulate tooled floral. Spine is a geometrically structured full panel of diagonals with center features.
A similar era binding in Scottish "wheel" style was sold at auction for over $3,500.00. This binding perhaps just one step below that in terms of beauty and collectibility, but still absolutely lovely.
