Very attractive original leather, handsomely polished. Original 1774 ownership signature on ffep of Benjamin Webb Anstie, the 18th century tobacconist. Pastedown has a period ex library label from Alfred Jones of Bath to the Bath Public Library. Period and not unattractive. Unusually, the frontis is retained and in good order. Textually very good, crisp and clean.
