Very attractive copy of the first edition of Edwards' Practical Sermons, including sermons on the importance of theology, on the practical and pastoral implications of God's absolute sovereignty, on answered prayer, on self-deception and self-flattery, on the torments of hell and its impact on observing Christians, on the good use of time, charity to the poor, the use of excommunication etc., 33 in all. These were first issued in Scotland rather than the United States and is here in its very first state.
