What a wonderful and scarce little item. Selina, Countess of Huntingdon, nearly single-handedly financed the care, training, education, and release of those being called into the ministry during the Great Awakening.
At her death, her massive estate was nearly depleted. She'd given it all to John Wesley, George Whitefield [who had been her Chaplain], to the Cornish Methodists, the Welsh Methodists, to the creation of a College to train ministers.
Measures 33mm in fine condition; very unusual on the market. Perfect for a collector of Great Awakening, Whitefieldian, or Methodist Material . . . or as a gift to a wonderful donor. Her story is amazing.
