1794 ISAAC WATTS. The Psalms of David Designed to form a "Christian Nation." Important American Ed.
An important early American imprint of Isaac Watts' classic book of worship, with the Psalms being "New Testamentized." And, in this early American edition, revision of Psalms which had been translated in in a way that mingled Davidic royal language with that of the Monarchy of England. Those are here revised, de-emphasizing the "throne of God mingled with the throne of man," etc. Largely following the revision of Joel Barlow.
