Signed Phillips, '97 on the title. Probably Samuel Phillips Jr [1752-1802]; founder of Phillips Academy, active supporter of the American Revolution, etc. purchased simultaneously with material from Phillips' estate and signature similar to examples in the other material, but without the "Samuel."
Original leather, hinges through, but intact and stable with a bit of care. Textualy very good.
