1804 SELINA, COUNTESS OF HUNTINGDON. Collection of Hymns for the Countess' Chapels
1804 SELINA, COUNTESS OF HUNTINGDON. Collection of Hymns for the Countess' Chapels
Very scarce issue in miniature of Selina, Countess of Huntingdon's hymnal. Originally composed during the height of the Great Awakening, when she was personally financing George Whitefield, John and Charles Wesley, the College to train Great Awakening pastors, and the formation of dozens of churches. It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that there would have been no English Great Awakening, at least in size and scale, if the Lord had not supplied someone to take her place in terms of financial generosity.
This edition a bit later, issued for use the Chapels established out of her "Connexion." No similar copies on the market at any price.
