Similar to the other Wilberforce item, the first sheet is absent, but the entirety of the remainder in Wilberforce's hand and with an extensive postscript.

Wonderfullly, addressed as "Private" to John Scandrett Harford Esq [1785-1866]. A wealthy British banker, he was also a devoted Quaker and Abolitionist with a long-standing friendship with William Wilberforce. Duke holds a sequence of letters from Wilberforce to Harford; of course the present is not among them.

Reads:

Friend Mr. Babington, the Temple of Leicester.

Believer me ever
My dear friend
Affy yours
WWilberforce

It is then followed by an extensive postscript regarding two students he wishes Scandrett to assist, etc.,
