A very nice, early American issue of the woodcut illustrated, or hieroglyphical, Bible for the young. Inspired by the previous English editions, the American edition was, as the name implied, new, and contained more woodcuts than the previous imprints.

A good - example in original quarter calf binding with blue lithographed front and rear cover. Moderately foxed and a bit shaken. First sheet of the Sketch of the Life of Our Blessed Saviour has the foredge trimmed, not affecting text. Tear at the top stitch of the signature before, again, not impacting text.
