An interesting and very early Particular Baptist document written by John Edwards of the [Particular] Baptist Home Missionary Society in London to the Particular Baptist [Relief] Fund with regard to former Baptist missionary to the Scilly Islands, J[ohn] T. Jeffery. He had since become the Pastor of a Particular Baptist church plant in Gray's Walk [London]. There is an account of his ordination in the Baptist Magazine for 1825 HERE.

To the Managers of the Particular Baptist Fund
Gentlem
I beg leave most respectfully to recommend to your Attention the care of Our esteemed friend, Mr. Jeffery of Lambeth.
Having known him as our indefatigable Missionary upon the Scilly Islands for upwards of Seven years I can with the greater cordiality assure you that he deserves and needs your help - all that he requests is the usual Exhibition of books, which he finds more needful in his present than in his former situation. Messrs Cox, Upton, united with me in the services of his ordination in December last and if they knew of his application I feel persuaded they would cheerfully add their names thereto. Your kind assistance to this case will much oblige
Gentlem
