Osbourn, James. Good News from a Far Country, or, Epistles of Love to Men of Truth. Baltimore. John D. Toy. 1828. 404 + Subscribers' List.
Very scarce American Primitive Baptist work with no copies on the market at any price. Osbourn was one of the old hardshell or anti-mission Baptists along with Gilbert Beebe, Samuel Trott, etc. and as with the Baptists that split because of the missionary work of Carey and Serampore, Osbourn and company split in protest of the support of Adoniram Judson, etc.
Good – , quite rubbed, with losses to spine as shown, though attractively patinated and sound. Interior handled with some stains and last couple leaves loose in binding.
