A very attractive copy of the memoir and correspondence of Legh Richmond, devotionalist, abolitionist, friend of William Wilberforce, etc.,

Contains a neatly laid in signed note by Richmond, in reference apparently to a previously connected item, perhaps an order or invoice. The content is not theologically or historically substantial, but rather nice to have his autograph appended none the less. It reads as folllows:

Dear Sir,

Please to send me as above by Olney Coach of next Monday morning.

Yours truly,
Legh Richmond

[Legh Richmond, Slavery, William Wilberforce] Grimshawe, T. S. A Memoir of the Rev. Legh Richmond. London. R. B. Seeley. 1828. 640pp.

A good + to very good example in original half leather with raised bands, all edges of text block marbled to match boards. Foxing moderate on prelims and growing less for first signature or two. Generally very clean and bright. A very attractive volume with some rubbing at extremities as shown.
