1829 SAMUEL MILLER. Original Manuscript Letter by Influential Presbyterian - Princeton Divine.
Wonderful piece of Presbyterian history. An attractively preserved single-page framing example of an unpublished letter by Princeton divine, Samuel Miller [1769-1850].
The full letter as follows:
Princeton, Augt 21, 1829.
Revd & dear Sir,
I inclose, herewith, an Obituary of our common acquaintance, Mr. Thomson, late of this place. I have drawn it up hastily, with many blottings, & interlineations. But I believe you are familiar enough with my hand-writing to make out the M.S. - The sentences on the left hand pages are to be introduced into the text, at the places marked. -
As I calculate to leave home on Monday morning next - I may not see you. My object is to have the obituary inserted in the next number of the Advocate. If not, be pleased to acknowledge the receipt of it in "notes to correspondents," that the family may know that the thing has not been neglected. In haste, yours
very sincerely,
Saml: Miller.
Very good condition with no address panel present and the referred to manuscript not present.
