An excellent first American edition of the works of one of the most influential Scottish divines of the 19th century. Thomas Chalmers [1780-1847] was involved with influencing nearly every influential divine of the era. He was professor and deeply influenced Horatius Bonar and Robert Murray M'Cheyne. Edward Irving was his Associate Pastor. And he was instrumental in the 1843 formation of the Free Church.
