1832 JOHN WESLEY. Sermons on Several Occasions in Fine Half Leather. Very Attractive.
A very attractive two-volume custom-bound set of the discourses of John Wesley. Apparently bound for W. J. Guerrier, who was apparently a British 19th century divine. He shows up in auction records as having owned a substantial collection of 16th century original reformation works.
Wesley, John. Sermons on Several Occasions; by the Rev. John Wesley, A.M. Sometime Fellow of Lincoln Collect, Oxford. With a Brief Memoir of His Life by Rev. Samuel Drew. Two Volumes. London. Fisher, Son, & Jackson. 1832 & 1834. xxiv + 616 + 644pp.
Good + in quality half leather, raised bands, cloth boards, marbled endpapers, etc., At some point the front top third of volumes one's board and prelims were dampened. Some mild bleeding from red-foredges to extremities of sheets; light stain to boards as shown. Still beautiful, sound, and clean with some minor foxing. Very handsome on the shelf.
