Rare biography of William Tennent [1673-1746]. He was founder of the "Log College" in 1727. This may actually be thought of as the actual birthplace of the Great Awakening. The name was meant to be derisive and imposed by others because he took godly young farmers and merchants and trained them as evangelists. His teaching on conversion was that later utilized by his graduates [Gilbert and William and other New Light / Great Awakening evangelists], by Jonathan Edwards, and epitomized in George Whitefield.
