An exceptionally scarce first [and only] edition of John Winebrenner's New Testament, containing a new introduction, pronunciation aids, a reference to German and alternative translations, and a very handsome typeset. Glossary references foot-washing.

This was the same year he officially formed the Churches of God, General Conference and founded the Anti-Slavery Society of Harrisburg.

Originally a German Reformed pastor, his revivalist preaching, open offer of the Gospel, and his distinct views on baptism, foot-washing, and most significantly, his no compromise position on the abolition of slavery and the slave trade. These led to his being locked out of his own Church and founding a new denomination. He was very influential among the revivalist branch of the Reformed churches and, unusually, got on quite well with the Methodists, etc.,

I don't trace an example in the auction record or in the trade.
