A wonderfully preserved assemblage of three Baptist Missionary Society commemorative medallions all housed in custom leather pouches. 

1. Centenary of the Baptist Missionary Society, 1792-1892. Measuring 1.75 inches in diameter, the front reads, "Baptist Mission Centenary 1792-1892. The House at Kettering in Which the Society was Formed Oct 2nd 1792. The obverse has the names Carey [William], Fuller [Andrew], Marshman [Joshua], and Ward [William] around the outside with four cartouches of Africa, China, India, and the West Indies all surrounding an open Bible with rays emanating from it toward the outer edge of the medal. Very good condition. 

2. Centenary of the Church Missionary Society, 1799-1899. Measuring 1.5 inches in diameter, the front bears a full engraving of a missionary preaching to a variety of nationalities, including an Indian monk, a Chinese philosopher, a King of one of the Islands of the South Seas, and a slave lying on the ground. The obverse reads, "Church Missionary Society Centenary 1799-1899." This is surrounded by "The Lord hath done great things for us wherefore we are glad." Includes an early pierced loop. Very good condition in light, white metal. 

3. Half Centenary of the Baptist Missionary Society, 1792-1842. Measuring 1.75 inches in diameter, the front reads, "William Carey" with a very fine likeness of the original Baptist missionary. The obverse reads around the edge, "Expect Great Things from God. Attempt Great Things for God." The interior then is text dense, reading, "Baptist Mission formed Oct 2, 1792. Commenced E. Indies 1793 / W. Indies 1813. W. Africa 1840 / Stations 157. Missionaries 71 / Teachers & Native Preachers 127 / Members Upwards of 30,000 / Scholars about 18,000 / Scriptures Translated Into / 40 Languages & Dialects / Copies Issued in the / Year 1841 85,000 / Slavery Abolished / August 1, 1838" Very good condition.

All three housed in custom leather pouches; the third of which is Victorian in age. The other two pouches appear to be mid-20th century. A charming group.
