1841 JOHN OWEN. A Discourse Concerning the Holy Spirit. Kentucky Presbyterian Provenance.
Rather nicely preserved Presbyterian imprint of John Owen's Puritan classic on the Holy Spirit. This copy also neatly signed by R. A. Johnson, prominent Kentucky Presbyterian divine of the time who pastored the Danville Presbyterian Church [Old School] in the Transylvania District, taught, and was on the Board of Trustees for the Seminary at Danville as well.
Owen, John. A Discourse Concerning the Holy Spirit. wherein an Account is Given of His Name, Nature, Personality, Dispensation, Operations and Effects. And the Nature and Necessity of Gospel Holiness, and the Difference between Grace and Morality. Philadelphia. Presbyterian Board of Publication. 1841. 240pp.
Good + example in quarter black calf with pebbled boards; rubbed at extremities and with moderate foxing as shown. But solid and a nice vintage copy.
