A rare, very finely preserved example of Jones' important work on the need of providing religious education for slaves in the deep South. Also contains the rare appendix which records an important catalog of organizations attempting to work with the disenfranchised population.
The 1847 Philadelphia edition is scarce, last sold at auction at Swann, 2006 for $747.50 with commissions. The market has experience significant price increases since that time.
