Rather scarce work covering the historical development of political parties from the very beginning of the United States, including content related to the Continental Congress, The Constitutional Convention, George Washington's Administration, Thomas Jefferson, during the War of 1812, The Hartford Convention, James Monroe, Andrew Jackson, James K. Polk, etc., with special sections on naturalization laws, election law in Michigan, slavery, etc.

Very faint inscription on the ffep from the author, Daniel Munger, to influential early Detroit lawyer and advocate for public education, Samuel Barstow Esq [d.1854]. A few pages with early pencil notations, presumably those of Barstow.

Munger, Daniel. Political Landmarks; or, History of Parties from the Organization of the General Government to the Present Time. Detroit. Fox & Eastman. 1851. 292pp.

A fair copy only, front board detached, foxed and stained throughout, generally solid enough for use with a bit of care. Minor ex library stamps.
