Rather scarce Kentucky imprint of a fascinating anti-Baptist / anti-Campbellite work by prominent Presbyterian divine, Thomas Clelland.
Rev. Thomas Cleland [1778- ] was a graduate of Transylvania Univrersity at Lexington, and from there to Danville where he studied theology under Dr. David Rice. He preached his first sermon in 1802 and preached at various posts before taking charge of New Providence Church in Mercer, Kentucky and simultaneously the church at Cane Run [1813].
This was not far from Cane Ridge and the followers of Alexander Campbell, Barton Stone, and more traditional Baptists were especially effective in the region. The work is specifically aimed against them.

A good + copy, bound in cloth, generally solid. Pages are a bit handled, generally bright, have some light foxing, and some juvenile pencilings at the prelims.
