A very early American imprint of Octavius Winslow’s Personal Declension and Revival of Religion in the Soul, a classic work of 19th-century experimental and devotional theology. Originally published in London in 1841, the treatise provides a searching exploration of the interior nature spiritual backsliding, what Winslow terms "incipient declension," addressing how faith, prayer, and love slowly decay in a believer's heart and offering biblical remedies for spiritual renewal.

Good + in original cloth, some fading to spine and general wear, through at corners and chip to cloth at the head of the spine. First several leaves turned at lower corner. Text remains remarkable solid and clean. We note just a stray pencil mark here and there; very minor.
