A very nicely bound and preserved example of the "New Haven" hymnal in conjunction with the "General Association of Connecticut, generally representative of the moderate revivalist school in New Haven [Yale], contra the anti-revivalists, but also opposed to the "New Measures" of Charles G. Finney, Jedidiah Burchard, etc., So in the vein of Asahel Nettleton, Bennet Tyler, etc.,

Very good in attractive full red pebble morocco binding with raised bands and gold embossing to spine and boards. Edges brightly gilt in gold. Some minor rubbing at extremities. A few corners just slightly turned in one signature of the volume. Some minor to moderate foxing, largely isolated at prelims.
