Superb autobiography of influential Methodist, James V. Watson [b.1814]. Born in England, he emigrated to America and was a prominent worker in the emerging West and South, including Detroit, Indiana, and deep Texas. He was also an important figure in promoting the welfare of "Colored Methodist Churches, etc." 

Pages 85-124 are exclusively dedicated to Negro Camp-Meetings and the record of sermons. Also extensive accounts of Camp-Meetings in Texas, The Value of Sabbath Schools, Temperance Works, etc.
