The third, first-rate example of Pilgrim's Progress we are currently offering from the collection of a long-time client. This is a lovely full morocco binding with raised bands and elaborate blind tooling. Then, beautifully tooled foredges just set this example apart. Really beautifully done.
Bunyan, John. The Pilgrim's Progress from this World to that which is to Come, Delivered Under the Similitude of a Dream. Wherein is Discovered the Manner of His Setting Out, His Dangerous Journey, and Safe Arrival at the Desired Country. With a Memoir of the Author by George Cheever, D.D. and Engravings on Wood by G., E., and J. Dalziel, from Designs by William Harvey. London. David Bogue. 1857. 441pp.
A very good example with some minor rubbing at extremities, al consolidated. Textually very solid and clean save some scattered foxing, more concentrated at the prelims, per usual.
