A very nice large 4to sammelband full of interesting material. Signal among them though, a very rare 1858 "illuminated" printing of Washington's Farwell address.

Selections include:

[George Washington]. Washington's Farewell Address to the People of the United States. Embellished with Arabesque Designs & Illuminations. Philadelphia. Devereux & Company. 1858. 24pp.

Kate Rowden of Temple University calls it a "particularly beautiful Washington-related book." Last offered in 1910 by Merwin Clayton as part of their Rare Book & Fine Binding auction. The present example much cleaner than the Huntington Library example. Also represented in the Walter Updike Lewisson Collection of Washingtonia.

[Bound with]

[Maps, Francis McNally]. National Geographical Series. Revised Edition. An Improved System of Geography. Designed for Schools, Academies, and Seminaries. New York, Chicago, and New Orleans. A. S. Barnes & Company. 1866. 110pp + 12pp Appendix on Map-Drawing.

[Bound with]

[Kit Carson, Beadle's Dime Novels]. Adams, Captain J. F. C. The Fighting Trapper; Or, Kit Carson to the Rescue. Beadle's Dime Library. Volume VI. New York. Beadle & Adams Publishers. 1879. 29pp + catalogue.

Plus B. K. Bliss & Son's Select List of [Garden] Novelties for 1883 [Beautifully illustrated]; And a beautiful assemblage of the lavisly illustrated front covers of American Agriculturist. For the Farm, Garden & Household. New York. Orange Judd Company. Beginning January of 1882 and running unbroken through December of 1886 [i.e. 60 beautifully lithographed covers]; a handful of issues of the Breeder's Gazette and The National Livestock Journal.

A very good copy, bound in half leather, generally solid, with generally bright pages.
