Interesting little letter by John Perkins Ashton, missionary to Calcutta who writes of his family being afflicted by Influenza.

Very tidy 1p ALS by John Perkins Ashton who arrived in Calcutta in 1859 and was there until at least 1873, perhaps later.

He response that he would love to see the recipient and trusts the Lord will comfort them and protect them from the influenza that has afflicted Ashton and his family.

Very good state with traces of mount on rear.
