A rather scarce work by fairly radical American so-called  "closed Baptists," i.e. those who would not share communion with Christians not baptized by immersion upon a profession of faith. This generally ruled out Methodists, Presbyterians, Congregationalists, and often Campbellites, etc.,

Closed communion was perhaps the earliest sign of the "fundamentalist tendency" among Baptists that would have been antithetic to the views of early Baptists like Roger Williams, etc,. who were quite generous in their views of other Christians.
