Very rare response to the Irish revival of 1859 with specific reference to the the more "pentecostal" dimensions. The author discusses the physical manifestations, accounts of miracles, the craving of miracles, instances of hysteria, excited imaginations, extravagance and disorder. It is not on the whole against the revival, but explores the potential for abuse; great first-hand account and no copies located in the world.
