A very scarce and attractive assemblage of six c.1861 Western Americana, Exploration, Adventure Chapbooks issued by Beadle and Company of New York and London, publishers of Dime Novels, adventure stories, and in this case, a wonderful grouping of Americana.
Because of the ephemeral nature of the works, they are scarce, with not a single example of even one of the volumes here available on the market.
Also scarce at auction, with o examples of Pontiac at auction since 1977, Crockett not since 1963, Boone not since 1959, Tecumseh not since 1959, Kit Carson not since 1979 [a copy sold for an impressive $75 in 1955!], Fremont only traced once, and that in 1912!
A truly special and unique grouping.
