Oliphant, Margaret. The Life of Edward Irving, Minister of the National Scotch Church, London. Illustrated by His Journals and Correspondence. London. Hurst and Blackett. 1862. 420 + 503pp.
An exceptional two volume set of the classic life of Edward Irving. Irving is now remembered as perhaps the most important proto-Pentecostal divine and also as the genesis of the modern premillennialism for his publication of Ben Ezra, etc.
Attractive half calf with black leather on spine and corners, raised bands, contrasting labels. Some light rubbing, but an incredible set. Probably the finest we've ever handled.
