Williams, William R. National Renovation: Its Source, its Channels, and its Results. A Discourse Preached January 4th, 1863. New York. Anson D. F. Randolf. 1863. 24pp.

Very good message arguing that for the United States to truly be renovated and renewed into a place rightly approximating God’s heritage, there must be a generation of prophets, often from the wilderness. He notes John the Baptist and his connection to the ministries of George Whitefield, Brainerd and his banishment from the University, the Cobbler Missionaries to India [William Carey, etc.]. He further urges emancipation of slaves as the right course of action for a nation seeking God’s blessing.

Minor ex collection marks. Otherwise very good. Scarce.
