Wonderful carte de visite containing apparently 9 clergyman, probably all connected to Lincoln. It was issued in 1865 and notably includes:
Bishop Matthew Simpson [11 O'Clock], Bishop of the Methodist Church, friend of Abraham Lincoln, Religious Voice of the Union, and the person chosen to preach Lincoln's funeral in Springfield, IL.
Also includes Presbyterian, Phineas D. Gurley [2 O'Clock], who preached Lincoln's Funeral in Washington, D.C.
If someone could land the others and why the orientation around the chap in the middle, this CDV probably has a lot more significance. The rest of the folks just aren't known to me.
Published, Hallett & Brother, 1865.
