1866 JOHN T. DUFFIELD. Discourse on the Second Advent. Pre-Millennialism - Rare.
Fascinating lengthy address on the Second Advent by prominent Presbyterian, John Duffield. Here, fresh off the war, he sees in the world proof that the Church has not yet prepared the world for Christ. He is, however, not a post-millennialist [what he calls the dominant view], but a premillennialist. He would just a few years later speak at the New York Pre-Millennial Conference, etc., Rather rare outbreak of more premillennial / adventist sentiment among the Presbyterians.
