A very finely bound copy of one of the truly great devotional classics of the Christian faith; then, neatly and professionally mounted to the pastedown is an original autograph of Robert Murray M'Cheyne. His autograph is incredibly elusive; I believe I may have handled two over 25 years.
Assembled, to be sure, but authentic and a lovely presentation.

Full calf, raised bands, gold tooled compartments, and contrasting morocco title panel, ruled boards, and all edges marbled to match marbled endpapers. Beautifully bound, probably by David Bryce of Glasgow. Minor foxing and the blank ffep removed at some point. Aside from very minor rubbing, very good condition.
