Between 1842 and 1868, E. B. Elliott published his absolute behemoth of a work, Horae Apocalypticae. Bound in four massive quartos, having nearly 3,000 pages, and over 10,000 textual references, it is to this day considered one of the most influential pieces of eschatology ever written. It is also excessively rare, dearly priced when found, and requires a lifetime to digest.

Enter W. T. H. Eales, Vicar of Yealmpton. He was purchasing each volume as it was released and deeply impressed theologically by the work. He recognized immediately, however, that Elliott's work would be lost to the vast majority of Christian ministers, let alone lay persons. So he requested that Elliott publish an abridgment. With no energy to do the work. Eales volunteered, completed it, and Elliott himself revised the manuscript.

I can locate no other copy, in reprint or original, on the market at any price. An important production.
