The introduction describes the work, "This new anthem book for York Minster follows, in its arrangement, the order of the Prayer Book; thus, the several Seasons of Advent, Lent, Easter, &c., have each a fixed set of Anthems, from which selection may be made, etc"

Lavish original morocco binding, dramatic double-raised bands, some rubbing, freshly redyed and consolidated. Elaborately tooled dentils, marbled endpapers, and all edgs gilt in gold. The boards just very slightly tender with minor breach on lower rear; as usual from the board weight. Absolutely fine if handled with care.
