A charming pair of 19th century hymnals, the second of which has a wonderful inscription from use with services of Evangelist Thomas Needham, friend of D. L. Moody and brother to evangelist George Needham.

This volume inscribed on the blank ffep in pencil, "Ida W. Crowell. Union Evangelical Service. First Baptist Church. Chorister E. C. Avis. Evangelist Thos. Needham" The recipient's name likely in her own hand and quite different from the remainder of the inscription. The remainder either in Avis' or Needham's hand."
