A very attractively preserved set of the first edition, published as a series, of Spurgeon's Autobiography. Issued under the editorship of his wife, it came out in four consecutive years, each issued in a large matching quartos with very slight variation to the production, i.e. one issue has tipped foredges rather than gilt, etc.,
Because of their immense size, they are almost always in rather unstable condition and rather worn. To my recollection, the finest set we have handled.
Complete in four volumes:
A very good set, bound in cloth, with spines a bit unevenly sunned, likely from the different dye batches of the cloth year to year, and covers some some minor general bumped. Generally solid, with bight and clean pages.
