A very scarce six-month run of Henry Ward Beecher's paper, The Christian Union. Similarly to Talmage's paper, Beecher's addressed a broad spectrum of issues and counseled Christians [and Americans more broadly] regarding the ethical and practical responses requisite. It included fiction [one regarding a freed slave's Christmas], the epidemic of opium addiction, social equity and wealth, Native American rights, women's suffrage, etc.,
