A scarce imprint demonstrating just how significant and controversial the 1881 revisions of the New Testament were understood to be. The fact that Seaside Library issued the present is significant. They usually trafficked in classics and literature; not quite "dime novel" stuff, but with a flair for what was best selling and most interesting . . . and occasionally sensationalist. They made good on titles by Jules Verne, Charles Dickens, Robert Louis Stevenson, and with a very much sought edition of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein

That they saw the new revisions as warranting enough popular interest to devote two full issues to the publication of it it in its entirety, plus notes, is telling. A very rare survivor, as they were often published in large format wraps and often did not survive.

Both parts present in a single volume, and rather nicely preserved.
