Very attractive copy of R. W. Church's life of Anselm, one of the Missionary Saints of the Middle Ages. 

Anselm [1033-1109] was Archbishop of Canterbury, but twice exiled from England for his resistance to the Crown in matters of religion. Theologically, today he is remembered for his role in apologetics and development of the ontological argument for God in the universe; still broadly used as a category of apologetic thought.

Attractive full calf binding with marbled text block edges and endpapers. Very solid and attractive, though the blue dulled on the spine. Some minor foxing, else a rather exemplary copy textually.
