Very scarce authorially inscribed biography of Rev. Alvah Sabin [1793-1885]. Sabin was pastor of the George, VT Baptist Church for 53 years, during which there were a series of protracted revivals. These are recorded in the present volume some detail. Additionally, he was a significant voice in Vermont in support of the abolition of slavery. He was friends with William Lloyd Garrison, who invited him to speak at the Anti-Slavery Society in 1833, etc. etc., and at length engaged the issue politically also in the House of Representatives.
